At Ludgvan School, our mission is to provide a ‘World Class Education for All’.
We aim to be a school which has deep roots and values within the wider community that prepares children for the future by:
· fostering enthusiastic, resilient learners with a global outlook
· providing an inspiring and inclusive environment for all
· ensuring every child achieves their full potential
Our 3 values are evident in all that we do and are key to helping us achieve our aims. They are:
Ludgvan School is a proud founding member of Leading Edge Academies Partnership-a local Multi-Academy Trust of successful schools working together in the best interests of our children.
All of our learning at Ludgvan School is accessed through a project based approach, ensuring that the children understand the links between their learning and understand it’s purpose. Much of their experience will not be based in exercise books, but in the outside environment, on experiential trips and visits, residentials and will be evidenced through presentation and end of topic events involving wider community.
Our children, staff and enthusiastic ambassadors would love to welcome you for a tour.

Our biggest achievement is having such a positive team and family atmosphere about the school, ultimately resulting in very happy children. Character education and the development of personal values enhance our children’s educational experience and their sense of emotional safety in our community. We live by values, or aspects of character in our school. These virtues are instilled and reinforced as our students go about their daily learning. We acknowledge and honour, when a child is demonstrating them in our classrooms.
We were delighted to have been graded as a 'Good' school in 2019 by Ofsted, who rated Personal Development as Outstanding. This truly reflected the hard work, dedication and teamwork of the staff, governors, parents, community and most importantly, our children. Alongside this, we have also been nationally recognised for our ‘reflective marking’ and ‘International links’; as well as a Distinction award in the delivery of our PE and Sports.
We are consistently ranked towards the top of the County and Regional league tables in terms of academic performance and have recently been ranked the 6th best school in Cornwall by the Real Schools Guide a received a letter from MP Nick Gibb, congratulating us for being in the top 3% of schools nationally for progress made by our children. As well as academic excellence, we pride ourselves on offering a wide and varied curriculum, consisting of residential trips, education visits, a variety of extra curricular clubs and specifically taught lifeskills.
We are a pioneering school, always looking out for new and exciting opportunities to enhance the teaching and learning of our pupils.
